Frequently Asked Questions



1.  How much do you charge for dog walking and/or puppy check-ins?

2.   How many dogs are walked at any one time?

 

The maximum is usually 4 for group walks if dogs are regulars that get on

well together; this is dependent on the cohesion of the dogs as a group and their size and behavioural traits.

If you have booked a 1:1 it is exactly that 1 walker to 1 dog unless you have asked for socialization or you have a young puppy.

 


3. Will I get to meet my dog walker/s?

 

Yes. We will always have an initial consultation and as we are currently a family company you will get to know all the walkers/Trainers

as we often work together on the same days. We are looking to take on qualified staff but we will be toughly vetting them.

 


4.  Do you arrange picking up and dropping off the dogs?


Yes. This is included in the price, we can pick up and drop off from your home,

work or other location in an around the Liverpool area.


 

5. Do you have insurance?

 

We are fully insured by Protectivity Insurance (underwritten by AXA insurance) for everything from Walking dogs

to Hydrotherapy and all members of the Team are covered in the unlikely event an incident should happen. We also have insurance cover

 if your dog/s are ill or injured on a walk to provide (emergency) veterinary care*.



6. Are your Staff /Walkers fully Trained.


YES, Always. Wagging4Walks staff policy dictates all Walkers must have a minimum of a Level 2 City and Guilds Certificate in competence in

Dog Walking and a valid canine first aid certificate. Trainers and Behaviourists have even higher training and qualifications.

We are also ever striving for canine knowledge and working towards higher goals for the protection and

legal minimum qualifications for dog services and all individuals in the sector.

 


7. Do I need to be in when you collect or drop off my dog?

 

No. Most of our client’s use are service because their at work or not at home and trust us either with a set of keys

(which are kept secure and discretely labelled)

or we have with codes to external key boxes or clients may leave keys with a trusted neighbour or in a hidden place (at there own risk) etc.


 

8. Do you offer out of hours dog walking?

 

Yes. We can offer out of hour dog walking, please submit a request by email and we will try to

accommodate your needs.

These are charged at enhanced rate +25% on all services.


 

9. What should I do if I need to cancel a service or all my services?

 

If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible!

 If you cancel within 24hrs of a walk; you will forfeit your funds as this will effect company profits for the day.

If you have booked an on the day service these are none refundable but we may offer another time slot instead in certain circumstances.

If your in contract with us for services cancelations will be inline with your policy details; you should have a signed copy;

usually 14 days notice is given and any services that were due must be paid and can be provided until the end of the exit period.


 

10. What happens in case of an emergency?


We will contact you immediately; we have information packs for every dog with there details in case of emergency, we will use these details to decide

the best course of action based on your answers in the initial consultation and/or any updates you give us further down the line.

We will attempt to take your dog (if necessary) to your designated vets but in the unlikely event of an urgent emergency we will use the nearest

possible veterinary clinic and comply with the Animal Welfare Act.


 

11. Will my dog always be supervised?

 

Yes. Dogs are always supervised. Wagging4Walks prides itself on providing exceptional care and attention to each dog during walks

 to make sure they have an enjoyable enriching experience.


 

12. Where do you walk dogs in Liverpool?

 

We are local to Knotty Ash but depending on your location and price plan, we will travel to most of Liverpool areas for free; but walks may be

local to your property.  For group walks we will choose a central location to the joint clients addresses.

We often use Calderstones, Croxteth Hall & Park, Sefton Park, Courthey Park, King George Memorial Field, and Dovecot Park.


 


13. My dog has not been spayed or neutered; can he/she still be walked?

 

Yes. Male and female dogs unneutered are fine and can be walked. When on heat is recommended to have 1:1 walks for bitches.

 

14. Do you take bitches in season?

 

Yes, we can walk them 1:1 during heat periods; bitches on heat can be very determined and male dogs can home in on their scent, but 

we do are utmost to keep them away from un-neutered males. 



 

15. What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?

 

We will make every effort to put dogs together that get on well. In most circumstances (group walks) your dog will only be with

3 other dogs (a maximum of 4 total) and your dog will only walk with one other dog near them.

If there is one dog that is upsetting the group and we cannot solve this, we will inform the owner and

 either try with other groups or recommend 1:1 walks.


 

16. Do you offer your services on the weekends and public holidays?

 

We don't ordinarily work weekends but we can work weekends on request; however prices are slightly inflated.

Bank holiday rate is +50% on all Services offered, unless your in contract.

Note: We do not work Christmas week and will pre-notify with minimum 14 days’ notice clients of any closure of business for holiday etc.


 

17. How do the dogs travel to the walk location?

 

They Travel in our 5-star safety rated custom fitted SUV which is fully insured for business use with animals and traveling with animals abroad.

We drive very considerately for the welfare of the dogs as we’re aware some dogs can get scared or travel sick and we will desensitise them to the vehicle

and comfort them if need be while aboard etc.


 

18. I only require occasional walks for my dog, can you help?


Yes. We offer occasional walks or infrequent bookings if slots are available, we do recommend booking in advance to save any problems

 for you or time slots not being available etc. Please contact us through business WhatsApp as we have limited availability.



19. We have just got a puppy, but we are both in work; what services do you provide for a puppy?


We offer puppy check-ins which include toileting, cleaning up their mess, play, feeding, band Pupdates etc.

These sessions last 30-40 mins and can include a 20-30min walking service for £11.

 

20. What happens in bad weather?


Its England, and dogs have webbed feet!

 

 We wear waterproofs and we would request dog coats be provided if bad weather is due, however we carry spares

for emergencies. If the weather is torrential, we will wait under shelter for a short time and entertain your dog or engage in training or play.

 We will not allow your dogs to become too wet or too cold we have towels on hand to clean them up and dry them but we do request towels be available at

your home for us to use to clean up any mucky paws or wet fur etc.

 


21. Can you administer my pet’s medication?

Yes. We are trained in dog first aid, emergency first aid and can on your signed consent, can administer

medication following the instructions on the medication indicated by the dispensing vet labels at a

time you the owner wish it to be given etc.

 


22. Do you accommodate for all breeds of dogs?

 

Yes. We accommodate for all breads of dog (unless banned) from tiny mini breeds to XXL St Bernard’s, however depending on the dog’s personality and strength

XL+ dogs may need to be walked 1:1 or if they are well controlled on the lead they could form part of a smaller group walk.


23. Is My data Safe while using your services and website.


Yes. Wagging4Walks.com and .co.uk are secure protected domains buy IONOS (by 1&1) check the top website bar for

our padlock symbol; we are also insured for data breach by Protectivity Insurance (Underwritten by AXA Insurance).

We keep all client data confidential at all times stored digitally through our website and protected business emails.

Any paper copies of private data will be uploaded to our encrypted offline business account files, any hard copies our kept secure at all times.
